TALLY SOLUTION DESIGN
Tally Customization vs Tally Integration: Which Approach Fits?
Customization and integration solve different problems. Choosing the right approach early can reduce complexity and make future support much easier.
Choose customization when the work belongs inside Tally
- Additional fields or controls during voucher entry
- Special invoice or report formats
- Workflow behaviour that users need while working in Tally
- Business-specific validation within the Tally process
Choose integration when another system is involved
- CRM, ERP, eCommerce or portal data exchange
- Automated posting from another application
- External dashboards or workflows that need Tally data
- Two systems need a defined synchronisation process
Sometimes both are required
A connected solution may need a small Tally customization to capture or expose the right information and an integration layer to exchange that information with another application.
Keep the design supportable
Prefer the smallest solution that meets the business need. Avoid adding a second system when a simple Tally customization is enough, and avoid forcing a complex external workflow entirely inside Tally when integration is the clearer architecture.
