Inventory Movement Analysis in TallyPrime
Movement analysis looks beyond closing quantity. It helps explain how stock moved in and out during a period and can reveal items or groups that deserve purchasing, sales or working-capital attention.
Ways to analyse movement
- Item-wise
- Stock group-wise
- Category-wise
- Ledger or party-related views where available
- Stock transfers
Management use
Frequent movement may indicate replenishment pressure, while low movement combined with ageing may indicate excess or obsolete stock.
Use with ageing
Movement tells you how actively stock is flowing; ageing tells you how long quantities have remained. The two reports are more useful together.
